Data Archiving

Question about data archiving and recovery?
I am a former student at NAU and needed to see what mail I received and/or sent during a month-timeframe several years ago. However, I do not know if such data is stored or even kept in backup archives (such as tape backup or microfiche). This would be the Dana system at Northern Arizona University. I am trying to re-establish contact with a computer user I sent a game to in 1996 (which, unfortunately, I no longer have the original of or even same source code). Thanks, Paul Yes, I just now contacted NAU via email but have not received a reply as of yet.

Fact: the US is 80% Christian, 52 % Protestant, 33% Born Again, 25% Catholic (give or take). Debate over?
What percentage of the US population is Christian (out of 300 million)?: ABC News/Beliefnet: 83% The CIA: 78% The US Census Bureau: 80% The City University of New York: 77% Princeton University/Newsweek: 82% Association of Religion Data Archives at Penn State: 84% Protestant vs. Catholic Protestant: 52% of US population Roman Catholic: 25% of US population *Source: CUNY The American Religious Identification Survey How many Americans are Evangelical/Born again? University of Akron 78 million (26% of the US) Baylor University: 111 million (37%) Gallup Poll: 129 Million (43%) ABC/Belifnet: 114 million (38%) Pew Research Center: 111 million (37%) Wheton College Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals: 100 million (33%) All my sources are linked here: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-ahyr9lY1cqGvATOxo5Zt40uI?p=25 So, can this debate be put to rest? I bet there is not one reasonable, thoughtful person who can dispute these demographics. R&S, we now know the facts. CJ: Prove it. Provide one source as credible as the ten I provided. Just one. mamma: I always need a margarita. Teresathegreat, feel free to do the math yourself: 100 million out of 300 million = 33%. And I list plenty of sources. Which survey did I quote erroneously? I'll be happy to correct myself.

What are the best/cheapest options for consumer-grade data archiving?
I accumulated a couple of GB of important data on my hard drive, mostly family photos and videos, and wanted to back all of that up to long term and reliable storage. Searching online gave me a vague idea of my options, but in a lot of cases articles are aimed at big companies and people with a lot of constant data - too expensive and overkill for my needs. I am looking for some media that is readily available and will give me quality results to last on the shelf for 15 years or more with occasional access. From what I gathered MAM-A Gold DVDs and Taiyo Yuden DVD+R media are among the choices. Are they worth it and where is a reliable place to get them? Are there better options (another hard drive for example)? EDIT: What are the pros/cons of your suggestions?
