Incremental Backup

Is there a backup software that will do an incremental backup of my documents and ..........?
NOT convert the files to another format for example .tib or .gho I just want a straight up copy of my document and when I change one of them, I only want that one to back up, not the whole my document files. And no converting to other formats.

What is the best free (or not so free) utility for backing up my hard drive?
Wondering what you guys think is the best free (or paid, even) utility for backing up my laptop's internal hard drive to an external hard drive? I have a 120 gb seagate external that I bought second hand, and does not have it's own backup utility. I want to make a full backup/clone (what is the difference, which should I do?) including everything, so in case my HD gets hosed, I can just pop in a boot CD and bring everything back to life without having to install windows all over again. I also want a utility that will do scheduled, incremental backups after the initial backup. I currently have TODO Backup...seems to be alright for free...but I can't seem to get an answer on whether or not it will do incremental backups. Is there perhaps a Seagate utility for a newer model external harddrive that will do this that I can download from their support site? My external hard drive doesn't have a model name, but the part # is 9bd862-560, if that matters. Also, in case it makes a difference, I am running 32 bit Windows Vista SP2. Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and I would really prefer that anyone who may answer have actually experience with the program(s) they suggest. Thanks!!
