Please Help, MS Word Recovery Deleted Half of My File!?
Alright here's the story: Last night I added a bit to a story I'm writing I saved and turned off the computer the normal way, and this evening I turned on the computer and opened up Word again. Recovery opened for some reason, saying that my document had been recovered along with the original which was manually saved, both two minutes apart (being saved). I opened the recovered one because the time was more recent, but it automatically deleted and I got confused and tried to open the original. A window opened momentarily, but it flashed so quickly that I couldn't read it and next thing I knew more than half of my story was deleted. If you need any more info, just ask. Please help this is more than a year's worth of work lost, I had some of it backed-up, but not enough at all. Basically I just need to know if there is anyway to recover what I have lost, my mom seems to think there is.. but I'm not so sure..

I'm getting an error opening my file saved as a .docx. The file is obviously corrupted, and ms word recovery isn't doing the job. I DL'd a program that recovers it, but it was only a trial. It worked but I'm not going to pay 140 dollars. Any free programs out there?
