Should I delete system resores and shadow files on my D drive?
I need to back up my file from my lap top, i usually back up to my D Drive, however, now it is full. It gives me an option to clear up some space by deleting system restore and shadow copies but does warn it may delete file shadow copies and older Windows Complete PC Backup images as part of restore points... this information doesn't mean a lot to me, hoping someone can help me!!!
Thanks

Why won't my PC backup work?
I've tried everything, checked everything and there's absolutely no reason for it to fail. I've even shown it to my friend- a computer expert- and he didn't find anything. I'm using Windows Live OneCare, and it's worked for over a year in auto mode, but it just died, like that. The hard drive is a Western Digital MyBook standard, 500GB. I need to bak up only 270GB or so.

External Hard Drive problem?
I have a 250GB Smartdisk Crossfire hard drive. It was working perfectly for a couple of months on my vista laptop but now it doesn't show up in "My Computer" so I can't access the files. I have important files on there such as my PC backup. The light turns green when it's on but my computer doesn't show it as being connected. I don't know what's wrong with it. If it is broken, how could I transfer the files from this HD to a new one?
