Basic Accounting Transaction Help? PLEASE?
Simple accounting which I have forgot because I haven't done it in a year! The question starts out with saying that the business received $60,000 cash and issued common shares. But then They say that there is $14,000 in the business bank account at the end of the month. Also there is a transaction that says that the business spent $25,000 for a franchise, and that the franchise is a business asset. Help Please!

Can a bank credit check you if no credit is being applied for?
I hope someone can offer me some advice. I have recently started a small business as a sole trader and am looking to open a business bank account. I do NOT want any lending on it, no overdraft, no credit card, just a simple account in the business name. I have very poor credit history. I approached the bank i have had my current account with for 10 years and they turned me down, even though the business manager in my branch couldn't understand why - or that's what he said anyway! Having spoken to a friend she mentioned that some time ago legislation was passed that disallowed credit checks to be made by institutions if no credit was actually being applied for. Is anyone able to tell me if this is the case? Having spoken to my bank again and also another one of the high street banks they have both confirmed that they DO credit checks on ALL applications - whether credit is applied for or not. I just need someone to confirm if my friend was correct about the legislation and any advice anyone can offer me to get an account open would be gratefully received. Thank you! Just for info - i am in the UK. :-)
