and gives total time and how much money you get.

Excel formula - hours as a fractional result between two time?
I'm looking for an Excel formula that will calculate hours as a FRACTIONAL result, rather than whole hours or as hours and minutes. For example, I need the result between 12:00 PM and 2:15 PM to be expressed as 2.25 hours rather than 2:15 (two hours and 15 minutes). This is for a timesheet template for work.

excel formula error gives #VALUE?
So my worksheet used to work fine, but now my formulas give an error.
I even tried downloading a template http://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplates/free-timesheet-template.html
when I try to imput the time, I get:
please use the following format for entering the time 12:00 AM
I put in exactly, "07:00 AM"
even tried "07:00:00 AM"
I tried unlocking the cells and changing the format to time (it already was)
it used to work fine even if I put in "7 AM"
any ideas?
entering 7:00 works, but it picks AM or PM for me. If I try to change it to PM, I get the error again
show calculation steps gives:
0.9347222222-"5:00:00 PM" results in error
in =TEXT(0.9347222222-"5:00:00 PM","h:mm")
pretty sure its a format issue, for some reason even though I have it set as a time format, its being treated as a decimal
